I just sat in the auto and he started driving it.I asked him did he have a accelerator in feet as in cars.He said no,he had race(Accelerator) and gears on the left side handle(both in one).

On further talking to him he told me that,”i could have landed on roads begging because my hand was gone but i had courage to face it and innovated situtations to suit me.I could not leave my children hungry.”

He also told me that he had adopted a child now,which is great.He says his courage has now brought him to a comfortable position in life in which he can feed and teach his family.He was very jolly by nature for the time i interacted with him.

He told his name as Shah.After he brought me to my destination in Noida,i started thinking how many of us actually can be like him.Very few i suppose.People here cant face even small problems in life.I have read in newspapers people commiting suicides because of recession.

MBA grads in tension because of grim market situation.Totally hopeless,always cursing the luck and situation.We all know examples of many other people in our lives who have lost all hopes due to small problems.After i met this guy,l felt so good.I thought i am fully alright,everything in place but still i keep worrying about petty things in life and this guy who lost his right hand completely has no complaints with life and he is proud that he could do all this.

Guys i am not writing this blog at all to promote my blog .I just am writing this because i felt we all should know about such Real Life Heroes who can give us insipiration in any bad time we face in our life.We are interested in petty lives of fim stars and actors.Such stories always get lost in the lives and times of Shah Rukh Khans and many others.Such Shahs are no where to be found.So i have written his story to remind me of him again and again.

I felt so proud after meeting him.

The old man understood nothing and asked ,”what you want me to do son?”The son asks his father to sell extra chairs,increase prices to normal,downsize the helpers and workers etc etc etc etc etc.

The old man does so.

Eventually due to lack of chairs people have to eat while standing.They fel uncomfortable.Due to this people start to less often visit the place.Due to increased prices,still less customers.

Due to lack of helpers and workers the old man is not able to handle the few people too.All this ends up in closure of business.

The next day Old man says to his son,”you were right!!Recession has really hit our business”.

The son smiles back with utter confidence.

On discussing with roommates its still not clear whether we are in recession or in economic slowdown.Still we all conclude we are in slowdown not recession in real terms.but still slowdown is known as Recession these days.Lets assume we are in Recession.

We daily read newspapers spitting recession venom on us.Daily when i wake up.XX company lays of 40000 people becuase of Recession.XX Brothers bleed to death due to recession.XX B school not confident of placing even 50% of grads due to ,you know it???

What i see as Recession is just Fear .Thats it.Its the fear that has set into our minds.Companies have fear of losing demand,People have fear of losing jobs and falling real estate. News channels and papers daily print more pessimistic views of economists,CEOs of failed companies etc to add fuel to fire.

After days of dismay today a fresh air came with an article in TOI”Economic upturn in two mths: Management guru”Who management guru? Eliyahu M Goldratt author of The Goal (the book i need to read for book review too).I just was woken up seeing the title of article just two months is he mad??? All biggie wiggies are banking on the fact ” NO RECOVERY TILL 2010″ What is this guy saying?  “Fears of recession are completely unfounded,’’ says the man described by Fortune magazine as a “guru to industry’’.Goldratt says the Indian economy, particularly manufacturing, is already showing sign of an upturn. “In the next couple of months, barring a few sectors like real estate and automobiles which are dependent on retail financing, it will be back on the growth path,’’ he adds. He, in fact, feels 2009 will be better than the previous year for manufacturing. “The negative growth in the industrial production in India in December was because of fear of demand falling in the future and not because of a lack of demand,’’ says Goldratt.

Now this article really made me fresh.Hopeful of good days ahead.Then i though to themselves.If one simple article in TOI can give me such good hope and kill my fear (may be for some time before some other great economist gives a article pessimistic to core just to show his supremacy).What effect will a week full of such feel good articles will have on mind of people.

Under normal circumstances all biggies agree that in india recovery will begin anywyas in 9 months from now.This guy comes in with 2 month theory and kills fear of few people.In starting i established that Recession is nothing but fear.

If all start to talk and feel good and write such articles as todays,what would be the effect.CASCADING ofcourse.

lets consider a hypthetical situation.a simple business man ABC reads such feel good articles who was thinking of dumping people and clearing inventories due to RECESSION phew!!.what will he do ?He will be hopeful of times to come will go against his previous decision and will start his production again with optimism (enemy of fear). and OEM and vendors dependent on him also get business.They also produce.Now the most important person Customer who was also afraid and was clutching on to his money and not buying will also read such articles.he also thinks of buying a house hoping that prices will rise quickly due to good times ahead and also buys product of  our friend ABC.All happy where is Recession?

Just a feeling of goodness can turn things around.So if such feeling sinks in recovery that was to come in 9 10 months with dull faces will actually come in next 6 months and god willing 2 months  as per Goldratt.

So Recession is nothing but a fear in our minds.Kill it at once!!!! because you would be doing it for yourself and not anybody.so be selfish and hit it hard!!!!!!!!

There has been a International debate in the football fraternity.The footballing world is divided into two on it.

Whole Italy is firm on the belief that Ruud was offside.According to them Panucci,the defender, fell and went off the field of play behind the byline after clashing with other players in the preceding goalmouth scramble and was lying injured on his back when the ball went into the net.So it should be offside.

It finally took an official statement from UEFA to prove the linesman right.

Austrian referees’ commission chairman Gerhard Kapl was quoted on the Austrian Web site www.sportal.at as saying the goal was correctly awarded.

“The injured player behind the goal counts as a player on the field and therefore it was not offside,” said Kapl.

But can an injured player who is lying knocked out outside the playing area can actually be called as an active player in the run of play?

The thing is how the rule has to interpreted.One version says as i heard ona news channel that a defender cant deliberately walk out of the play to make a striker offside.In simple words just imagine when the ball was about to be played to Ruud,Panucci actually walks out the field saying the striker is offside but in that case the striker is Onside. So by the same rule they say even if Panucci fell outside the field of play Ruud was still Onside.

But the debaters argue that Panucci didnt fell deliberately but was knocked down due to collision with the other striker.

The image below tells the actual situation.According to Rule,A player is in an offside position if he is nearer to his opponents’ goal line than the ball and the second last opponent (usually the ‘last defender’ because the goalkeeper is normally closest to the goal line). A player level with the second to last opponent is not in an offside position.

In the picture its clear there are two italian players in front of Ruud.First Buffon and other Panucci.So in this way Rudd is clearly Onside.

But the other counterview can be the fact that Panucci actually is out of the play (he is knocked out god sake).So its the way you see the situation UEFA claims it to be legal.I tried to find lot about it.Even referred the Laws of the game but didnt find it.If someone reading has read that clause which actually validates UEFA claim please leave a comment.

One more valid point is that if linesman didnt see palucci fallen on ground then there was no point in giving ruud onside as he badly offside when he played if we forget Palucci.

So still in the end of the blog i am still myself not clear what was it actually.But at the end i would say whether you consider that a goal or not still Netherlands were a better team and have two more goals to boast of.

So guys enjoy EURO fever and i hope no more controversies creep in and Football emerges a clean winner.

Then i told him that he works for one of the top notch IT companies.Was earning near a million a year.Then how was he a Fuddu.Just going to US for some dollars then coming back here and then working at your old less salary cool.

I said ask people who go to US for a year earn some good 3500 USD per month and then come back here to work at 4-5 lakhs a year or try to switch.Is that cool? or earning cool 10 15 lakhs here being in india.

Then i told him this line Distance is what matters friend not just the displacement??

Nobody sees that for them going to Amarika is what matters.

Now that line “Distance is what that matters not the displacement!” is actually very true in all context.The life is a long race is and short term displacements do not matter,what matters is that what distance have you travelled.

The amount of quality experience you have actually determines your Distance.And Distance is what determines your Quality of life in the end.

There is an interesting story which i heard about brain drain

There was a man who left his ailing father and went to US.he lived there and earned a lot of money, got married and had two children.Aftermany years he decided to come back to India.His children refused to accompany him and got spoilt as they became American born Confused Desis.Some how he came back to his homeland.His dad had a 1BHK flat in mumbai and with all his earnings he was able to buy a 2BHK in Mumbai city,With his children lost to americans he thought for a single bedroom space he lost everything.He lost his parents,he lost his children.In the end he just got an extra bedroom.

Here in the whole blog Distance is a very subjective term.It comprehends time,quality,vision and money  all at one go.

So guys please and please worry about the distance travelled in your life and not the displacement.

but what haslly stuck me was the quality of news channels on this issue.I felt like breaking my TV after watching channels like Aaj Tak,zee news,india live etc etc.They are just making it so juicy and melodramatic as possible as if its some serial or a bleddy soap going on.

Even i asked myself KYUN i am watching this channel.A 14 year old girl has been brutually murdered.She atleast deserves some graceful exit from this earth.Stupid looking people will try to sensationalize everything .

Now the story took a new twist when a cop who didnt even know the name of the girl properly unfolds many new theories (may be true).He told about the alleged affair between Dr Talwar and Dr anita durrani.Now the media gets waht they wanted.They start splashing dirt on the lady without knowing whats the truth.

and Police said prime accused is Dr Talwar himself (father).

The breaking news BAAP HAI HATHYARA.BAAP KI HAIWAAN and god knows what.

Who the hell are these channels to give the verdict and spoil the name without any proof still out.

I would like to say that only saving face is NDTV.I had given all hope when i reached that channel.Simple headline

Very graceful.I felt jornalism is still alive in the country.There is one channel.The lady newsreader Sonia was so graceful in handling everything.They were not taking any side.Not accusing anybody nor throwing filth on the character of any lady.Presenting the news in the manner a man would like to listen and view.

No wonder even talwars are interacting with them(NDTV).When other channels were playing “Maa” song from  Taare Zameen Par when Dr Nupur Talwar(mother of ARUSHI) was not talking to media,NUPUR actually was being interviewed in most graceful manner by NDTV.Its ridiculous,Maa song being played with Nupurs photo being focussed.Are morons controlling the TV news in the country?

Mr Pranoy Roy should actually take classes for AAJ TAK,ZEE NEWS,INDIA LIVE,E24 etc channels.Is there no censor for news ppl?

What are they grp of uneducated ppl?

I was so depressed after watching all that.Felt like going to AAJ TAK and scolding them.

Have we become animals in the world of competition?has news lost its face?Its just timepass like soaps?

I miss the DD1 news which our parents used to watch during dinner.All kids used to hate it but now it seems priceless.The Shammi Narangs,Usha Alberques,Please come back we need you.

so i can write a blog why not today i am officially VELA(u shud remeber if u read my last blog).

I think i should form a VELA ASSOCIATION.All those people who have no work in IT should be part of it.Many are just going there checking emails, chatting,forwarding stupid emails to other people of the same species and becoming killers of the worlds most dynamic and beatiful thing THE TIME(Not the institute for CAT preparation please fav place for VELAS).

Lets discuss these velas especially the IT velas.Who are these,how did they come into being how they actually originate and become such a strong force(or unforce).The producers of these velas are MNCs or home grown TCSs Infys wipros i dont know actually.

I have seen Velas(read people under investigation) coming to office showing face to manager and then sitting there and starting their fav passtime internet.I think the greatest vredit goes to yahoo messenger and google talk.People cant resist them.

The best i have seen is THE WAR OF STATUS MESSAGES.On gtalk people think they look cool by keeping strange status messages.This is a very serious indicator of the velas(a symptom perhaps).

the strangest i have seen was a dialogue from Jab We Met

“Yeh saale launde mujhe ganne ke khet dikhane leh jah rahe hai, kyun dekhun main ganne ke khet, kya khaas hai ganne ke khet main“ 

But this dialogue is also my fav this can be fitted anywhere u dont wanna go somewhere or dont wanna do some thing someone is duping you try fitting this line there you will enjoy it.

e.g. some telemarketing lady calls you and says sir credit card lelo

so u think credit card is the ganne ka khet think vo lady mujhe ganne ka khet dikhana chah rahi kyun dekhun main uska ganne ka khet(Credit Card) kya khaas ai ganne ke khet mein (uske credit card mein interest rate or whatever).

ok fundas apart lets come back to VELAS

Being Vela( a person with no work in punjabi) is a good feeling trust me or ask me.go to office do nothing get paid too.vaah i remebered a line you can have your cake and cut it too.it applies here.

I know all people reading this would be feeling guilty but no need to be actually.

you are vela because ur comapny wants you to be vela.so enjoy this feeling becasue

Na  Jaane kab tak rahe ye feeling

and one more thing Vela is a temporary feeling if its not temporary this will become permanent

i forgot to tell you there are two forms of Velapanti(yet new word).

1)Temporary

2)Permanent

Temporary one is nice warm cosy feeling very nice makes you feel very proud.You think you are on top of the world no work like a king still getting paid.

but the other Permanent one  is just opposite frustrating irritating akes you feel short tempered.You envy people who say that they are busy yaar (if they are not lying) will call later and blah blah.these things start to hit you.You no longer enjoy being Vela you feel antiVela(uff yet new word).Try not to enter this stage.

The worst is Transitional phase when you are moving from temp to perm.its the worst this is the last phase of temp which is well disguised.

So i think we should start a VELA association so that our velapanti remains in the temp pahse always.

and pleas all guys i am a VELA and not aware which stage i am in .If you can guess from this article let me know.But please maintain vela ethics.

one last thing VELApanti is contagious.highly it requires no medium no air water mosquito concept just like that.And Velas unknowingly ;raise velapanti and promote it and suck other people in the velabubble.(i have lost the count of new words now)
